3. Data collection on this website

Server log files

The hosting provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These include: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, hostname of the accessing computer, time of server request, and IP address.

This data is not combined with other data sources. The basis for data processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

4. Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We additionally store the IP address the inquiry was sent from and the time it was sent, in order to prevent misuse of the form. We do not share this data without your consent.

5. Newsletter

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on this website, we require your email address. Subscription to the newsletter is voluntary.

Double opt-in procedure

After you subscribe, we will send you an email containing a confirmation link. Your subscription is completed and your email address is added to the newsletter distribution list only after you click this link. You will not receive the newsletter without this confirmation.

The confirmation link is valid for 48 hours. If the subscription is not confirmed within this period, the data stored in connection with the newsletter subscription will subsequently be deleted unless another legal basis permits temporary retention.

Legal basis

The processing of your data for subscription to and delivery of the newsletter and for the individual performance measurement described below is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Electronic marketing communications are sent in accordance with the applicable legal requirements governing electronic direct marketing.

To the extent that the technologies used for performance measurement store information on, or access information from, your terminal equipment within the meaning of applicable German telecommunications and digital-services privacy law, such processing is based on your consent.

Evidence of consent

To demonstrate that valid consent was given, we store in particular:

• the email address used,
• the time of subscription,
• the IP address the subscription was sent from,
• the time of confirmation under the double opt-in procedure,
• the IP address the confirmation was made from,
• the source of the subscription, such as the newsletter form or contact form,
• the language selected and
• the version of the consent wording applicable at the time of subscription.

This information is used to demonstrate that valid consent was given.

Newsletter performance measurement

Our newsletters contain functionality for individual performance measurement. We record whether and when a newsletter was opened and which links contained in the newsletter were clicked.

For the measurement of newsletter openings, the email contains a technically embedded tracking pixel. When the email is opened and external images are loaded, this pixel is retrieved from our self-hosted Mautic instance. This allows the opening of the newsletter to be associated with the respective recipient record.

Links contained in the newsletter are provided through individual tracking links generated by our Mautic instance. When such a link is clicked, the request is first processed through our Mautic instance and is then redirected to the actual destination. This allows us to associate with the relevant recipient record that and when a particular link was clicked.

We use this information for statistical analysis of the use of our newsletters and to analyse and improve their content and design.

Please note that the measurement of newsletter openings in particular is not technically reliable in every case. Email applications may block external images or retrieve them automatically or through intermediary servers.

Technical implementation

Newsletter subscriptions, the double opt-in procedure, newsletter delivery and performance measurement are managed using a Mautic instance operated by us.

Mautic is not used as an external cloud service for these purposes.

We do not use Mautic components on the website itself to analyse or track browsing behaviour.

Where service providers are involved in hosting, infrastructure or technical email transmission, they are engaged in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements.

Withdrawal and unsubscribe

You may withdraw your consent to receiving the newsletter and the associated performance measurement at any time with effect for the future, in particular by using the unsubscribe link contained in every newsletter.

After withdrawal, you will no longer receive newsletters.

Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out on the basis of consent before its withdrawal.

Retention

After you unsubscribe, we will no longer use your data for newsletter delivery or performance measurement.

Unless another legal basis permits further retention, newsletter data will be deleted or, where technically and legally sufficient, anonymised.

Data necessary to demonstrate previous consent or maintain an effective suppression record may be retained where this is necessary to:

• demonstrate consent previously given,
• permanently respect a withdrawal or
• establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

6. Web analytics and spam protection

Swetrix

This website uses Swetrix web analytics software operated by us.

Both the Swetrix components used on the website and the API used to process analytics data are hosted on infrastructure operated or controlled by us.

In the configuration used by us, Swetrix does not use cookies or comparable persistent identifiers stored in the browser.

We do not use Swetrix functionality to permanently identify individual visitors and, in particular, do not transmit names, email addresses, message content or other contact information to the analytics system.

For the purpose of generating usage statistics, information including the following is processed:

• pages viewed,
• referring pages or referrers,
• approximate geographic region,
• browser type,
• device type,
• operating system and
• technical performance and loading-time data.

As part of the technical communication, information necessarily transmitted when a connection is established, in particular the IP address and user agent, is also processed.

IP addresses are not permanently stored in raw form. Technically generated pseudonymous identifiers may be used for statistical recognition of page views.

These data are not combined with names, email addresses, message content or information from our contact-management system.

No cross-device advertising profiles are created.

Legal basis for web analytics

The processing is based on our legitimate interests in:

• measuring the reach of our website,
• technically monitoring the website,
• identifying technical problems,
• designing our services according to users' needs and
• optimising our website.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Spam protection using Swetrix CAPTCHA

To protect our forms against automated, abusive or mass submissions, we use Swetrix CAPTCHA.

The components and interfaces required for this purpose are also hosted on infrastructure operated or controlled by us.

For verification purposes, the browser performs a computational task or proof-of-work challenge.

Data generated in this process is processed solely for detecting and preventing automated or abusive access and for ensuring the security and availability of our systems.

For this purpose:

• no cookies are used for advertising or profiling purposes,
• no data is transmitted to an external CAPTCHA provider and
• no advertising or user profiles are created.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in ensuring the security and availability of our systems and preventing automated and abusive form submissions pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Separation of analytics and contact data

Web analytics, contact management and newsletter management are technically and functionally separated.

In particular, the following information is not transmitted to Swetrix:

• email addresses,
• names,
• content of contact requests or
• identifiers from our contact-management system.

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of data processing, as well as a right to correction, blocking, or deletion of this data.
